Welcome to the Fleur de Lys, Widdington. A little country pub in the heart of the Essex countryside.
The Fleur De Lys freehold pub was taken over by husband and wife team Chris & Ellie Rossetto in November 2007. They like to think of anyone entering the building as a welcome friend, be it individuals or families, they are also dog friendly.
Chris is proud of his selection and quality of ales and guest lagers. His efforts have paid off and The Fleur De Lys has continued its long standing entry in the Good Beer Guide and has once again been selected to be included in the 2013 edition of ‘CAMRA’s Good Beer Guide’. If you want to taste one of the guest ales before you order just ask, or if you think Chris should be serving a particular brand or range, just suggest it, the Fleur is a Free House and so eveyones ideas are welcome.
Head Chef Mark Green continues to create fantastic new seasonal dishes for which we have had some really great comments back from customers, but don’t let us convince you, come along and try them for yourself. In the mean time you can see the sort of dishes we are serving on our ‘Sample Menu’ page.
The Fleur has an excellent games room with a full sized pool table, Fuzzball table and competition darts board.
If you are passing the area in winter months and want a blazing fire to warm cold feet drop in and say hello. There is also a beautiful beer garden with plenty of seating for those spring and summer lazy days and evenings. The village is off the main road, so the pub garden is quiet and safe from fast passing traffic.
Bookings are advised, especially on Friday nights and Sunday lunch times.
We take bookings from individuals to a maximum of 8 guests on a single table. It’s a table and quality issue for us to entertain more than a table of 8. We may be able to cater for larger tables, however, it would have to be on a reduced menu, pre-order basis.

Kitchen Assistant to Head Chef
This role requires someone who can follow instructions, yet use common sense, working in a fast paced environment to assist our Head Chef, Mark, to deliver the quality food we have become known to serve.
Circa 20 hours a week. Thursday, Friday & Saturday Dinner service 6-10 and Saturday and Sunday lunch 12-3.
This role would ideally suit someone who has a desire to progress within a kitchen environment. You will learn and be supported to help deliver starters and desserts.
Due to hours of work own transport is essential. You must be at least 16 years old to work in this role.
